Make service go faster

Some Pointers Important

  • WE ARE NO LONGER OFFERING SERVICE UNDER THIRD-PARTY (Future Shop, BestBuy, etc) WARRANTY PROGRAMS. If your computer is covered by a third-party warranty, please bring it directly to the place of purchase and have them service your computer. If you are not satisfied with their service/policies, please contact Apple Customer Service through 1-800-263-3394. (you may need to specifically ask for a customer service rep)
  • When you fill out your service request form please include your user account password…this is required in order to perform basic software updates and other software installs.
  • Have you backed-up your data? We charge for back-up services if you are in need of them, so do it at the office or at home if you can. As the underlying cause of many computer problems is hard drive failure, we cannot be responsible for data loss during our service.  We will take every precaution to be sure that your data is not compromised, but having a complete, current backup of your important data is your responsibility.
  • Locate your OS/Install disks. These are the gray or white DVD’s that shipped with your machine – we need them for any software or hard drive related issues. If you are missing your disks, include that information when you fill out your service request form. Replacement disks for most computers can be provided for a fee if you cannot locate them.
  • Unless specified otherwise please refrain from calling the shop for service related issues that can be easily discussed over  email. For the most part, service check-in will now be done online through the Digerati web site.
  • Applecare Protection Plan is extended parts and labour coverage for a total of three years from original purchase date. If you have not purchased Applecare, your computer is covered by a one year parts and labour warranty.
  • For computers under warranty, (Applecare or Limited) we will need you to bring your proof of purchase, as well.
  • Please leave all extra pieces at home. In most cases, we only require the machine and your start up disks. Power cords, carrying cases, keyboards and mice are not required unless the service issues is directly related to those items. Note: If you are experiencing battery/power issues with your laptop, we do require your power adapter.
  • In most cases, your computer will not be serviced and ready for pickup the same day. We make every effort to get your computer back to you as soon as we can, but please be ready to leave it with us for at least a few days. Servicing a computer properly takes time, and we want to try our best to make sure we don’t miss anything. In some situations, we will be able to get you back on your feet the same day!
  • PLEASE NOTE: Your computer will not be entered into our service cue until we actually have it in our shop. Filling out a service request form does not constitute an agreement to service your computer, it is the first step in submitting your case to us for further consideration.
